Topic of Failure Often Includes Habits

Many people follow a list of steps for a certain period of time, but then struggle to establish patterns they can stick to. But despite failure, I have discovered that we form habits in our lives whether we are intentional about creating them or not.

I’ve determined that creating a positive life requires replacing patterns that pull me away from a life of joy and purpose.

When I think about habits for a positive life, I think about feeding the soul. There is a lot of information and plenty of resources surrounding how to feed your mind and body, but not a lot on how to feed your soul. I believe nurturing the spiritual part of ourselves will then overflow into a positive mind and body. Here is a list of daily habits for a positive life:

1. Practice gratitude.

In a world of entitlement, we sometimes forget to be grateful. Acknowledging your blessings each night will put your mind in the positive state needed to welcome rest. Keep a notepad by your bed where you can write down your blessings. This way, if it’s been a hard day, you can see several examples of good.

2. Learn something new.

Continual learning and the growth produced, as a result, help to mold us into well-rounded people. We may not always be the best at the new things we try, but taking risks and being open to new learning will ultimately develop confidence and courage. Read a book, take an online class, or skim through articles about a topic that interests you. Growth from learning empowers positivity.

3. Connect with positive people.

Every now and then we find ourselves around a person who brings us down. If we build relationships with positive people and work on connecting each day, we will soon reflect that same positivity in our other relationships.

4. Let go of the past and focus on new possibilities.

It’s easy to get sucked into disappointment about the things we haven’t accomplished or the many failures we have all experienced. But if we take the time to dream and dwell in possibilities instead, we will soon develop a natural, positive way of thinking.

5. Share kindness.

The old saying, “Treat others the way you want to be treated” really holds true! Spreading kindness through words, acts of service, or giving your time not only instills positivity but also shares positivity. Practice taking notice of situations around you in which you could share a kind word or deed.

Trying to be positive when you’re grieving or experiencing other serious distress can seem impossible. During these times, it’s important to take the pressure off of yourself to find the silver lining.

Positive thinking isn’t about burying every negative thought or emotion you’ve got or avoiding difficult feelings. The lowest points, where we once thought, we are done. Actually, those are the ones that motivate us to move on and make positive changes.

When going through such a time, try to see yourself as if you were a good friend in need of comfort and sound advice. What would you say to them? You’d likely acknowledge their feelings and remind them that they have every right to feel sad or angry in their situation, and then offer support with a gentle reminder that things will get better.

We all know the persona behind the multinational Fast Food Joint KFC Colonel Sanders.

One of the foremost amazing aspects of his life is that the incontrovertible fact that when he reached the age of sixty-five, after running a restaurant for several years, Harland Sanders found himself penniless. He retired and received his first Social Security check which was for 100 and five dollars. which was just the start of his international fame and financial success story…

Colonel Sanders, a fellow who loved sharing his fried chicken recipe. He had tons of positive influence from those that tasted the chicken. Now, he was retired, and up in age, he chose to sell his cool new chicken recipe to the planet. With little means at his disposal, he traveled door to door to houses to restaurants everywhere in his local area. He wanted to partner

with someone so he could promote his fried chicken recipe. Needless to mention, he was met with little enthusiasm.

Colonel Sanders started traveling by car to different restaurants and cooked his fried chicken recipe on the spot for the restaurant owners. If the owner liked the chicken, they might enter into a handshake agreement to sell the Colonel’s chicken. Legend has it that before having his first “yes” he heard 1009 “no”s.

Colonel ahead of his first KFC store. The deal was that for every piece of chicken the restaurant sold, Sanders would receive a nickel. The restaurant would receive packets of Colonel’s secret herbs and spices so as to avoid them knowing the recipe. In the year 1964, He had 600 franchises. At this point, he sold his company for $2 million dollars but remained as a spokesperson. In 1976, the Colonel was ranked because of the world’s second most recognizable celebrity.

It’s amazing how the person started at the age of 65, when most retire, and built a worldwide empire out of fried chicken. No time is lost. Keep going!

Practicing positive thinking every day

If you tend to possess a negative outlook, don’t expect to become an optimist overnight. But with practicing positive thinking, one day, all your self-talk will contain less self-criticism and more self-acceptance. you’ll also subside critical of the planet around you.

When your state of mind is usually optimistic, you’re better ready to handle everyday stress in a more constructive way.

You won’t be able to undo years of pessimism and negative thoughts overnight, but with some practice, you can learn how to approach things with a more positive outlook.

Motivation is the force that compels you to stick with your goals and achieve them. It’s the desire to run a marathon, excel at your job, and lose weight. I Am Slowly Learning That The Only Person I Am In Competition With Is Myself

I am slowly learning that the only place that the competition for being a good and worthy person exists is in my own mind.

I am slowly learning that every time being “better than” someone or something else motivates me, it’s because I don’t have my own motivations.

I am slowly learning that the only person I am in a competition with is myself. Not only because the only thing I should compare myself to is my past, but because competing with other people is something that breeds from fear and insecurity.

I am slowly learning that the only person who is judging me is me – and I am slowly learning that there’s no prize for winning this.

When you are in competition with someone in your mind, you are not trying to be better than them. You are trying to re-define your self-image comparatively. You don’t feel good enough on your own, and so you have to grift off of the perceived inadequacy of someone else.

It’s not really a competition and it never was. It was just you telling yourself that there’s no way for you to feel good about something on your own, and so at least if you can be better than someone else, you’re okay.

It is unsustainable. It keeps you in a war with yourself. It makes you resistant to change. It makes you not want to succeed because you don’t want to be back on the battlefield.

If you can imagine your best, highest and most loving self, they aren’t sitting around thinking at least I’ve got more than (so-and-so). Of course they aren’t. They are happy on their own. The less happy you are, the more you need other people to be.

The competition exists for an imaginary audience in your mind. It exists for a faceless group of “people.” The secret is that those people are a projection of how you really feel. It’s the safer way to express your suppressed feelings about worthiness.

Winning the competition in our minds does not improve us, it degrades us. It gives a false high and forces us to keep leveling our worth against someone else’s.

More importantly, it does not move our lives forward. It drives us toward working against others, which almost always means we aren’t working for the true betterment of ourselves.

If you need envy, jealousy, and superiority to drive you, you should take a good, hard look at what you’re moving toward.

What needs to change isn’t how hard you try. You don’t need to augment your willpower. You have to be very, very honest with yourself about what it is you think you want and why it is that deep down, you actually don’t.

It means you also have to be honest about the ways in which your life is not fulfilling you. They teach you in middle school that bullies are the people who are suffering most, but when you’re the bully and the victim, the answer is that you’re not giving yourself something you need. You’re not building the life you really want.

So instead of wondering what would incite the envy of everyone you know, dream of what would feel so good you wouldn’t be able to stop and think of their opinions for a second. Imagine what would be so gratifying that even if you lost every pretend competition in your mind, it wouldn’t matter.

Imagine what it would take to be blissfully happy even if you weren’t the smartest, happiest, most successful person in the room. The reality is if you want to live by comparisons, you never will be anyway. There will always be someone next to whom you feel inferior.

The only person you are fighting is yourself. And when you’re on both sides of the battlefield, even when you win, you lose.

You Are Allowed To Admit You’re Not Okay

You’re not okay if you’re spending every single day in bed, barely moving from your room, rarely answering texts or engaging in any type of human interaction.

You’re not okay if you’re crying your eyes out every single night before you go to sleep, if you’re skipping showers almost every single morning, if you’re losing energy early in the afternoon when you’ve hardly even started your day yet.

You’re not okay if you’re always telling lies about why you’ve been acting so distant from your friends, why you’ve been locked inside your house lately, why you haven’t been in the mood to go out, why your eyes are always so red and puffy.

You’re not okay if you’ve lost interest in things you used to love, if you’ve lost energy, if you’ve lost passion, if you’ve lost the desire to roll out of bed when your alarm rings.

You’re not okay if you’ve been feeling off, like you’re not exactly yourself, like something needs to change. You’re not okay if you’re worried you’re going to feel this way forever. You’re not okay if you’re hoping thing are going to change soon.

You need to understand that not okay doesn’t mean not normal. There are so many people in this world feeling similar to how you’re feeling. You’re not alone. You’re not weird. You’re not crazy. You’re just a human going through a hard time right now.

If you’re not okay, you shouldn’t be embarrassed about it, but you should do something about it. You should reach out to get the help you deserve. You should make the choice to make a lifestyle change. You should see if you can find a therapist to talk to about your situation. You should pour your energy into finding a way to cultivate happiness moving forward.

You don’t want your life to be about existing until the next day, the next hour, the next minute. You want it to be about looking forward to the next day, the next hour, the next minute. In order for that to happen, you need to find things you enjoy. You need to get excited about waking up in the morning again. You need to ask yourself what you want and how you’re going to get it.

The time to play pretend is over. It’s time to start taking care of yourself. It’s time to decide you deserve happiness. You deserve to feel proud of yourself. You deserve to wake up in the morning with energy.

When you pretend you’re okay, you’re pretending you don’t need to fix your situation. You’re pretending your mental health isn’t a priority. You’re pretending talking to someone isn’t going to help. You’re pretending you’re perfectly fine living like this day after day after day.

But you’re not okay — and it’s okay to admit that. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to start taking better care of yourself. It’s okay to decide you matter. Your happiness matters. Your well-being matters. Your life matters.

Despite What You Think Of Yourself, You Are Valuable

It’s dangerous to assume your worth is tied to any one thing, whether that’s your career or your relationship or your friendships. If you get your validation from a single outside source, then your sense of worth is going to rise and drop on a daily basis. Your confidence is going to change based on how well that single area of your life is currently going.



You can’t allow your relationship status to determine your worth. It doesn’t matter whether you’re currently getting over a breakup. It doesn’t matter whether your heart is having trouble healing. It doesn’t matter whether you’re spending your nights in bed alone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the last one of your friends who is still single. It doesn’t matter whether you thought you would be married with children by now. You value doesn’t change based on whether or not you’re in a relationship.

You can’t allow your social media stats to determine your worth. It doesn’t matter how many comments you get on a selfie. It doesn’t matter how many followers you have. It doesn’t matter how many people have been sliding into your DMs. It doesn’t matter whether anyone has checked your story in the last hour. Your value doesn’t changed based on your popularity on social media.

You can’t allow your career to determine your worth. It doesn’t matter how much money you’re making. It doesn’t matter whether you’re taking longer to achieve your goals than you feel like you should. It doesn’t matter whether your friends seem further ahead than you right now. It doesn’t matter whether you feel like you’re slowly falling behind. You value doesn’t change based on the amount of money in your bank account.

If you’re unhappy with a certain area of your life, then by all means, you should try to fix it. You should take action. You should make a change. But you should never let your unhappiness convince you that you’re not valuable as a human being.

You can’t allow a single aspect of your life to determine your worth. You have to determine your own worth.

You have to look in the mirror and say to yourself: I know what I think of me and I am valuable. I am worthwhile. I am loved.”

How It Started With Colonel Sanders And Birth Of Kentucky Fried Chicken

Let’s go back in history to proof a point that rejection is actually the gateway to success.

Once, there was an elderly man, who was broke, living in a tiny house and owned a beat up car. He was living off $99 social security checks. At 65 years of age, he decided things had to change. So he thought about what he had to offer.

His friends raved about his chicken recipe. He decided that this was his best shot at making a change.

He left the state of Kentucky in America and travelled to different states to try to sell his recipe. He told restaurant owners that he had a mouthwatering chicken recipe.

He offered the recipe to them for free, just asking for a small percentage on the items sold. Sounds like a good deal, right?



Unfortunately, not to most of the restaurants. He heard NO over 1000 times. Even after all of those rejections, he didn’t give up. He believed his chicken recipe was something special. He got rejected 1009 times before he heard his first YES.

With that one success Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the way Americans eat chicken. Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC, was born.

At the moment, KFC is a worldwide franchise filling people’s belly with good food to snack around.

2022: Never Stop Chasing Your Dreams

Hey guys,

Never give up because you’re lucky to have something you feel this passionately about pursuing. Some people search their whole lives for meaning, for a purpose, for an outlet that brings them happiness. You’ve already found that thing, which means you’re one step closer to your dreams than most people because you actually know what your dreams are. You know what you want. You just have to go out there and get it.

Never give up because you’re not going to know what you’re capable of achieving unless you keep going. You’re never going to have any idea of how far you would’ve gone if you allow yourself to stop prematurely. Besides, what’s the worst thing that could happen if you keep chasing after your dreams? You might not reach them? At least, if you’re actively trying, then you have a chance at success. If you give up now, then it’s guaranteed that you’re never going to get where you wish you were. You might as well put the odds in your favor.

Never give up because persistence is even more crucial than talent. You’re not going to achieve all of your dreams in a short amount of time. You’re not going to get rewarded overnight. It’s going to be a long ride. You’re going to have to remain patient. You’re going to have to stay motivated, even when you feel like you’re off your game. You’re going to have to keep trying, even when the world is warning you you’re wasting your time.

Never give up because you’re going to regret it if you give up on your dreams. You’re going to look back on your decision to stop and wish you would have put in a little more effort, a little more time. You don’t want your future self to be pissed at your current self. Do yourself a favor and continue chasing after your dreams. Even if you don’t reach your goals, at least you won’t have to stay up late at night for the rest of your life worrying about the what ifs.

Never give up because you deserve to see your hard work pay off. You deserve to call yourself successful. You deserve to be proud of yourself. Right now, you might be questioning whether you’re good enough, but you cannot allow your insecurities to hold you back. Even once you reach your goal, you’re still going to have doubts. The nagging voice in the back of your mind is never going to go away, so you have to learn to live with it. You have to realize that even though what it’s saying might sound true doesn’t mean it is true.

Never give up because you’re making more progress than you realize. You’re closer to your destination that you would ever imagine. You might not be able to see it now — and if you give up, then you’re never going to see it. You’re never going to know how many more steps you needed to take to reach your dreams. That’s why you have to keep going. You can’t give up on yourself. You can’t let go of your wildest dreams.

Why You Will Give Birth To More In The Future Than What You’ve Lost In The Past

It is a New Year and am happy we all scaled through. Last year might be challenging to most of us in various ways affecting our lives. All I believe in is that nothing is ever too late.

Don’t give up on yourself because God has not given up on you; He knows that He put seeds of greatness in you. You have something to offer that nobody else has. Everyone is unique in his/her own ways. He’s given you noble dreams and desires. Too often, however, we allow challenges, disappointments, and setbacks to daunt us, and before long, we find that we’re not pressing forward anymore. We’re not extending; we are have lost hope about making it in life.

Surprisingly, most people who are talented and gifted are the ones that go through unfortunate situations in life: abuse, divorce, and neglect, addiction, and many more. In this case, it is very easy for people to think, why am I unfortunate. Why is this happening to me?

Sad to say, the enemy knows something about what’s on the inside of you. He knows the power you carry, your potential, gifts, and purpose in life. He makes sure he does everything he can to stop the seed from germinating. He doesn’t want your dreams and talent to shine for the world to see. H e wants you to live a normal mediocre life that you will see satisfactory, instead of growing higher and enlarging your coast to a better fulfilling life.

But get this. God did not create anybody without putting something extremely valuable on the inside. Life will bring it’s storm through setbacks and disappointments. In the natural, you don’t know how to rise higher. You have to stand firm and know what you are worth, know what you have on the inside, know your right because you know who you are through Christ Jesus. I am full of I can do power, and am surely going to rise up even when I fall flat on the ground, I will surely rise again.

Remember when Paul the Apostle advised is protégé Timothy to “stir up the gift within you”. Similarly, you need to stir up your gifts, desires, talents, and dreams. Maybe these positive qualities are buried beneath depression, overthinking, and discouragement of people telling you that it is impossible; beneath fears, weaknesses, and failures.

But the good things of God are still present. You have to do your part digging them out.

This year will be your year of restoration.

Another Reminder!

So I learnt something about Happiness today. Happiness is a decision.

And sometimes happiness is not really a ‘thing’ at all, but a decision. Deciding to live with a spirit of gratitude. Choosing to be thankful, to see the bright side, to love and smile and have hope, regardless of what’s in the way. Accepting that you cannot change everything, but you can adapt your attitude. And letting yourself heal.

Happiness comes for no reason at all, other than because you decide you want it there.

When we Release what is not meant for us. Release what has abandoned us. Release what has attempted to destroy us, hold us captive, bring us down. Release the pain we’ve been holding in our chest. Release the anxiety, the anger, and the fear.

So choose to be thankful in the challenges. Choose to see the bright side, the healing, the places you will go and people you will meet next.

You Glow Differently When You Let The Pain Go

You glow differently when you let the pain go. The pain of the past. The pain of your childhood. The pain of your breakup. The pain of your failures. You glow differently when you don’t let pain define you. When you take the lessons it taught you and turn them into wisdom, into art or into stepping stones on your way to resilience.

You glow differently every time people expect you to break but you don’t crack. You’ve survived storms before. You’ve overcome tragedies and painful experiences before. You can do this. You glow differently when you allow yourself to feel the pain without letting it permeate your life. When you let it all out but continue to live your life to the fullest. When you let the darkness roll out but let the sunlight in the next morning.

You glow differently when you don’t let your heartbreak stop you from finding love again, when it becomes your motivation to find your passion or get back in touch with your friends or meet new people. You glow differently when you believe that these things end for a very good reason, even though you might not understand it right away, it’s what’s best for you. You glow differently when you believe that God won’t take something away from you unless something better is on the way.

You glow differently when you don’t let your childhood wounds define you. Whether it was how your parents treated you or what they told you about love or about yourself. You glow differently when you forgive yourself. When you don’t carry the burdens of your childhood with you. When you don’t let the darkness of the past shadow the brightness of your future.

You glow differently when you’re not scared of pain, when you’re not ashamed of your scars, when you’ve found a way to accept the pain and you’re not ashamed to tell your story. When you let your pain inspire you to dig out your inner strength, your power or your talent. You glow differently every time you grow out of your pain and find happiness again.

You glow differently every time you heal because it looks so damn good on you.

Every scar tells a story. Every scar changes you. Every scar makes you even more beautiful.

The scars in your heart tell a story of bravery and vulnerability. They remind you of all the times you fell in love and the times your heart was fluttering with happiness. The times you put someone else’s happiness above your own and the times you believed against all odds. They remind you of the times you truly loved even though you swore you would never fall for anyone again. They remind you that even when your heart breaks, it still believes, it still hopes, it still finds the courage to try again even if it means adding one more scar.

The scars in your head take you back to all the battles you had to fight with yourself, how you learned to silence the toxic thoughts, how you managed to stop fear or self-doubt from getting to you when you wanted something that you didn’t know you could get. They take you back to all the times people let you down or told you false stories about who you are. They take you back to all the childhood messages you had to erase so you can start over, so you can begin again, so you can heal.

The scars on your body also tell a beautiful story of how you overcame pain or the bruises that came with crazy adventures and bold attempts. They remind you of your reckless days and your sleepless nights. They remind you that eventually the wounds heal and the pain slowly fades away. They remind you that things have a way of coming back together even if they’re sealed a little differently. They remind you that you can survive and that you’re a fighter. They remind you of all the times you got back up after life knocked you down and they remind you that life is full of bumps and bruises but it’s still worth living. It’s still beautiful and it’s worth fighting for.

There’s beauty in your scars and the stories they tell because they remind you of your strength and your healing. They remind you that at one point you showed up and you weren’t scared and instead of being ashamed of your scars, you wore them with pride. And for that, I’m proud of you. I’m proud of the way you wear your scars because they are deep and powerful and they hold a thousand beautiful untold stories.

Make Lemonade

Most of us are familiar with this quote: If life hands you a lemon – make lemonade.

It is inevitable that not everything you do, all the time, will go according to plan or make you happy. In other words, try to turn your setbacks into a positive, and never simply accept that something g went wrong making you uncomfortable/unhappy, and that there is nothing that can be done about it.

Take for instance, you try starting your car but it didn’t respond. Everyone knows how frustrating that is, especially when you have an important meeting or engagement. Well the fact is that you have to accept the frustration, but at the same time recognize that you have been presented with some unexpected opportunities to make yourself happier. You can now take a walk and enjoy the fresh air and use that as an exercise, instead of sitting in traffic, or been stopped by VIO or road safety in the case of my country Nigeria.

Setbacks can free you to do something you will enjoy. Never allow setbacks to push you back always, find a way to turn it to your advantage.
