Fact: How You See Yourself Will Always Be More Important Than How Others See You

This is a guest post.

How you see yourself, how you talk to yourself, how you handle your defeats is more important than how others see you or what they think of you. It’s a lesson I keep learning the hard way, the more you look on the outside for validation, the less you achieve, the less you accomplish, the less you do because what others think of you, their words, and their judgments can truly paralyze you.

Here’s a fact that’s never going to change, there will always be someone who doesn’t believe in you, there will always be someone who judges you, there will always be someone who doesn’t think you’re good enough for whatever you’re doing, there will always be someone who doesn’t think you are worthy of their time and attention and there will always be someone who criticizes everything you do. These people exist in our lives, they can be in our family or our friends, in our circle or our work and you can never run away from them but the good news is you don’t have to.

You don’t have to listen to their half-hearted advice or their unsolicited opinions. You don’t have to filter who you are or give up on your dreams because they all agree that you won’t be able to make it. You don’t have to see yourself through their eyes. You don’t have to let them dictate whether or not you deserve love. You don’t have to lend them your ears when they want to put you down and you don’t have to engage in their debates.

Here’s another fact, at the other end of the spectrum, there will be people who believe in you, who encourage you to go for your dreams, to take on more challenges, to step out of your comfort zone. There will be people who see you as more than enough and overqualified. There will be people who brag about you and how proud they are of you or how lucky they are to know you. Like a pendulum, you’ll always swing between these two ends which is why you should never really get attached to any of them because how you see yourself will always be more important than how others see you.

Because if others see you as bad and you are confident in your abilities, it won’t stop them from judging you anyway and if others see you as good and you’re full of doubts about yourself, then they won’t do you any good either. There will always be battles you can’t win and sometimes these people may be right about you but if you spend your life trying to prove everyone wrong then you’ll never truly live. What’s more important is not allowing these people to get to you or stop you from living the life you want even if it means losing a few battles and people along the way.

New Post: Be Armed with God’s Grace And Light The World

Hey guys, this is a guest post.

There is a light within you, a light that has been growing and glowing since the day you were born.

Your Father in Heaven knew you by name before you were conceived; He knew the potential that was within you, the beauty and strength you would become. He knew that you would be made in His image for a specific purpose; He knew you would bring joy and hope to the world.

God knew that you would be imperfect and stray from His truth at times, but that you would always be welcomed back to Him. He knew that life would throw you both pain and challenges, yet He would allow you the space to choose what you believed.

Ultimately, He knew the thoughts on your mind and the beating of your heart long before you could even speak—and He loved you, will forever love you regardless.

And in His love, you were meant to shine.

There is a light within you. It is cultivated when you share the gospel, when you smile at a stranger, when you lend a helping hand. It is born of the passion in your soul, when you do or chase something you love, when you walk down the path He intended.

This light is your own; no one can change or destroy. It stems from your innermost places and stretches out from your arms and legs, to your hands and feet, to your fingertips and through each hair on your head.

This light is a part of every moment, and your every cell.

And sometimes it dulls when you chase the wrong things; sometimes it softens when you’re so focused on all that you’ve lost rather than what you have. Sometimes this light fades when you convince yourself that you are unworthy. But no matter what happens, how far you wander from the truth, or how alone you feel—the light is within you.

This light is who you are.

God created you for a purpose. And though sometimes you may feel so distracted, so off-path, so confused about who or what you’re supposed to be, there’s a reason. There’s a plan. There is something that will allow this light to spread in and through you.

You just have to trust. You just have to continue forward, regardless of the circumstances of this life. You just have to listen, even when you’re unsure of His answer. You just have to know He’s guiding you, even when it feels like you’re wandering in circles.

See, even when you’re afraid, or lonely, or confused, your Father is with you. And He is not leaving. So instead of believing you are incapable of shining, instead of doubting your inner spirit or the truth of His promisesbelieve.

Arm yourself with God’s grace, with His passion, love, and strength. Wear His truth like armor, and go light the world.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still imperfect (you’ll always be); it doesn’t matter if you fail or doubt sometimes (you will, and this is normal); it doesn’t matter if you’re not even sure where you’re headed (this is the part of faith that relies solely on trust).

But what matters is that you pursue a life that honours Christ. What matters is that you love with all that you have, and pour yourself into the people around you, the things you do. What matters is that you keep trying to live in His truth and walk in His ways.

So fill yourself with positivity, with hope, with joy. Learn about the promises He made and wear them boldly on your skin and in your heart. Step forward in faith and let your life be guided by all that you believe. Open your heart to possibility, to purpose.

You Never Know What God Has In Store For You, But It’s Always Better Than You Think

Guest post.

You never know why God picked a certain path for you even if it didn’t make sense to you or even if you thought that it was unfair or too painful. You never know why God made you fight certain battles alone or why he made you lose those battles. You never know why he picked someone else for something you wanted or a dream you wished for, but you should know that what he has in store for you is always way better than anything you could have imagined for yourself.

You never know why his delays or his timing or his plans did not align with yours, but you should know that with time, you are going to realize that you didn’t need what you wanted back then, that they were juvenile wishes or dreams from an unhealed or an immature version of you. You are going to change and evolve and your dreams and passions will change and you will thank God that you were not stuck with an old dream or an old story that would have been wrong for you.

You never know why God tested you with the things that meant the most to you or the things you thought you couldn’t live without, but you should know that every time you think you lost something special, God has something outstanding in store for you. Every time you go after a blocked road or a closed door, God has an even better one wide open for you. Every time you chase someone who doesn’t love you or appreciate you or someone who isn’t right for you, God is saving you from a lifetime of pain and regret because he has someone perfect for you.

The truth is, you never know what God has in store for you, but from what I have seen in my own life and what I have learned when my life didn’t go as planned, all along God had a totally different vision for my life, and now I know that what I wanted for myself would have destroyed me. You never know how many doors God is willing to close to protect you, but you also never know how many doors he’s willing to open to bless you with things you never even dreamed of.

Sooner or later you are going to realize that what God has in store for you is always better than anything you could have imagined for yourself.

Thank you Rania Naim for reposting this inspirational post on my platform.

Tackle Your Challenges By Yourself With The Guidance Of God

Hey guys!

Am sure you’ve heard the story of the butterfly. Well, it is a good inspirational story for starting your Monday morning.

Once upon a time, a man found a butterfly that was starting to hatch from its cocoon. He sat down and watched the butterfly for hours as it struggled to force itself through a tiny hole. Then, it suddenly stopped making progress and looked like it was stuck.

Therefore, the man decided to help the butterfly out. He took a pair of scissors and cut off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily, although it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man thought nothing of it, and he sat there waiting for the wings to enlarge to support the butterfly. However, that never happened. The butterfly spent the rest of its life unable to fly, crawling around with small wings and a swollen body.

Despite the man’s kind heart, he didn’t understand that the restricting cocoon and the struggle needed by the butterfly to get itself through the small hole were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings to prepare itself for flying once it was free.

Moral of the story: Our struggles in life help to develop our strengths. Without struggles, we never grow and get stronger, so it’s important for us to tackle challenges on our own, and not rely on help from others all the time.

Have a inspiring week.

Topic of Failure Often Includes Habits

Many people follow a list of steps for a certain period of time, but then struggle to establish patterns they can stick to. But despite failure, I have discovered that we form habits in our lives whether we are intentional about creating them or not.

I’ve determined that creating a positive life requires replacing patterns that pull me away from a life of joy and purpose.

When I think about habits for a positive life, I think about feeding the soul. There is a lot of information and plenty of resources surrounding how to feed your mind and body, but not a lot on how to feed your soul. I believe nurturing the spiritual part of ourselves will then overflow into a positive mind and body. Here is a list of daily habits for a positive life:

1. Practice gratitude.

In a world of entitlement, we sometimes forget to be grateful. Acknowledging your blessings each night will put your mind in the positive state needed to welcome rest. Keep a notepad by your bed where you can write down your blessings. This way, if it’s been a hard day, you can see several examples of good.

2. Learn something new.

Continual learning and the growth produced, as a result, help to mold us into well-rounded people. We may not always be the best at the new things we try, but taking risks and being open to new learning will ultimately develop confidence and courage. Read a book, take an online class, or skim through articles about a topic that interests you. Growth from learning empowers positivity.

3. Connect with positive people.

Every now and then we find ourselves around a person who brings us down. If we build relationships with positive people and work on connecting each day, we will soon reflect that same positivity in our other relationships.

4. Let go of the past and focus on new possibilities.

It’s easy to get sucked into disappointment about the things we haven’t accomplished or the many failures we have all experienced. But if we take the time to dream and dwell in possibilities instead, we will soon develop a natural, positive way of thinking.

5. Share kindness.

The old saying, “Treat others the way you want to be treated” really holds true! Spreading kindness through words, acts of service, or giving your time not only instills positivity but also shares positivity. Practice taking notice of situations around you in which you could share a kind word or deed.

What are some ways you practice living a positive life? Let us know in the comments below.

How To Think Positively When Everything Goes Wrong?

Hi guys!

Trying to be positive when you’re grieving or experiencing other serious distress can seem impossible. During these times, it’s important to take the pressure off of yourself to find the silver lining.

Positive thinking isn’t about burying every negative thought or emotion you’ve got or avoiding difficult feelings. The lowest points, where we once thought, we are done. Actually, those are the ones that motivate us to move on and make positive changes.

When going through such a time, try to see yourself as if you were a good friend in need of comfort and sound advice. What would you say to them? You’d likely acknowledge their feelings and remind them that they have every right to feel sad or angry in their situation, and then offer support with a gentle reminder that things will get better.

Real-life Examples

Here are some real-life examples of Positive thinking. See, How people achieved something when even society loses hope on them.

We all know the persona behind the multinational Fast Food Joint KFC Colonel Sanders.

One of the foremost amazing aspects of his life is that the incontrovertible fact that when he reached the age of sixty-five, after running a restaurant for several years, Harland Sanders found himself penniless. He retired and received his first Social Security check which was for 100 and five dollars. which was just the start of his international fame and financial success story…

Colonel Sanders, a fellow who loved sharing his fried chicken recipe. He had tons of positive influence from those that tasted the chicken. Now, he was retired, and up in age, he chose to sell his cool new chicken recipe to the planet. With little means at his disposal, he traveled door to door to houses to restaurants everywhere in his local area. He wanted to partner

with someone so he could promote his fried chicken recipe. Needless to mention, he was met with little enthusiasm.

Colonel Sanders started traveling by car to different restaurants and cooked his fried chicken recipe on the spot for the restaurant owners. If the owner liked the chicken, they might enter into a handshake agreement to sell the Colonel’s chicken. Legend has it that before having his first “yes” he heard 1009 “no”s.

Colonel ahead of his first KFC store. The deal was that for every piece of chicken the restaurant sold, Sanders would receive a nickel. The restaurant would receive packets of Colonel’s secret herbs and spices so as to avoid them knowing the recipe. In the year 1964, He had 600 franchises. At this point, he sold his company for $2 million dollars but remained as a spokesperson. In 1976, the Colonel was ranked because of the world’s second most recognizable celebrity.

It’s amazing how the person started at the age of 65, when most retire, and built a worldwide empire out of fried chicken. No time is lost. Keep going!

Practicing positive thinking every day

If you tend to possess a negative outlook, don’t expect to become an optimist overnight. But with practicing positive thinking, one day, all your self-talk will contain less self-criticism and more self-acceptance. you’ll also subside critical of the planet around you.

When your state of mind is usually optimistic, you’re better ready to handle everyday stress in a more constructive way.

You won’t be able to undo years of pessimism and negative thoughts overnight, but with some practice, you can learn how to approach things with a more positive outlook.

Have a productive week!

What Is Motivation And How To Get Motivated

photo of woman climbing mountain

What is Motivation?

Motivation is the force that compels you to stick with your goals and achieve them. It’s the desire to run a marathon, excel at your job, and lose weight. Without motivation, you wouldn’t have any inclination to pursue greatness. Your basic motivations must first be met before you can start working towards improving the finer aspects of your life.

Once you’ve taken care of the basics, you’ll be ready to take on your higher purpose. Some will have a hard time sticking to their goals if they lack the passion behind their motivation. When your thoughts, goals, and actions are all in line, you’ll see yourself crossing the finish line before you know it.

The most important step is putting purpose and passion behind your motivation. That’s why you need to ask yourself:

“What goal is important enough to me, right now, that I can put my mind, body, and soul behind it?”

The Importance of Motivation

Finding and building motivation is vital as it will allow you to:

  • Change your habits
  • Become the best you
  • Set achievable goals
  • Learn how to manage time
  • Build skills and talents
  • Improve your mental health

Motivation has an exponential effect. In the beginning, it can be difficult to stick with your goals. When you’ve made it past the initial pain period, you’re more likely to keep working towards the finish line. You’ll find that in those moments it allows you to:

  • Adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Function productively
  • Build courage and character
  • Increase your internal drive

Motivation is also linked with our physical and mental health. When we lack motivation, our well-being will diminish. Our basic needs will stop being met and our mind and body will suffer because of it.

You need to have the motivation to go to the gym and work out. You need to have the motivation to be a good parent, partner, and friend. When we start to become less motivated in simple tasks like cleaning our room, this has a butterfly effect that can negatively affect our well-being.

It’s for these reasons why you need to find your motivational drive. It’s a crucial aspect to living a Full Life and achieving happiness, success, and more.

Why Is It Difficult to Stay Motivated?

The tricky part about motivation is not starting, but staying motivated. Every New Year, thousands decide they’re going to change their lives. Fewer than 10 percent actually stick with their resolution, and that’s being generous. Below you’ll find many common reasons why you’re losing motivation.

Not Aiming High Enough

While it’s easy to think setting easy goals will keep you motivated, it may harm your long-term motivation. If you make goals that are too achievable, you’ll get bored and lose interest. Ideally, you want to strike a balance between pushing yourself and creating realistic goals.

If you’re used to staying within your comfort zone, you’ll be missing out on the satisfaction of achieving a life-changing goal. When you push yourself, you’ll be able to build unshakable confidence as you crush goal after goal. When you look around one day and you’re living your dream, it’ll all be worth it.

Here are 7 Reasons to Dare to Dream Big.

Suffering From Procrastination

If you find it hard to stay focused and get started, you’ll find yourself falling behind.

Procrastination is a bad habit that you must learn to deal with if you want to achieve your short-term goals. Some simple steps you can take to defeat procrastination are: commit to starting a task for at least 3 minutes, create daily, weekly, and monthly to-do lists; and reward yourself when you complete your tasks.

Unclear Vision

Uncertainty about the future is a fear that many of us deal with. It can be paralyzing, instead of taking action, we start worrying about “What if?”

“What if it doesn’t work out? What if my dream isn’t truly my dream? What if I don’t succeed?”

If you have trouble creating a vision, then you’re at risk of drifting aimlessly through life. When you find your purpose and passion, you’ll be driven to strive for excellence. You can start the process of discovering your life purpose by asking yourself: “What would my ideal life look like?”

This is how to Create a Vision for the Life You Want

Letting Fear Control Your Mind And Actions

Fear can prevent you from achieving your dreams. Instead of taking action and moving forward, you might be finding yourself apprehensive due to the fear of failure.

You mustn’t allow fear to hold you back. You’ll inevitably miss out on career, relationship, and self-improvement opportunities if you don’t learn how to manage your fears. Fortunately, fear can be overcome.

One way to manage fear is to look for the root cause of your fear. With deep introspection, you can uncover the exact moment that triggered the fear that has been hindering your growth. This will give you a window of opportunity to communicate with your inner being and find release.

Facing your fear is the only way you’ll be able to become the best version of yourself. You don’t need to fix your problem overnight, but taking slow, thoughtful actions can have massive impacts on how you deal with your inside and outside world.

Feeling Overwhelmed With Work and Responsibilities

Otherwise known as burnout, it places you into a state of depression from overexertion and you struggle to achieve your goals. Burning out occurs when we put our well-being on the back burner to further ourselves in our careers or hobbies.

When we feel overwhelmed and forget about ourselves, it becomes a challenge to unwind and find balance in life. Burning out is a sign that you’re motivated, but you need to learn how to separate work and home life. Without this separation, the lines begin to blur and you may find it increasingly difficult to find motivation for yourself when you’re constantly wiped out from work.

Getting and staying motivated will make an immense difference in your life. You’ll be able to tackle those goals and dreams that you’ve put aside for years. You’ll also be able to set yourself new and exciting goals that you would never have considered before.

Stay motivated always!

Reminder: A Healthy Mindset Is Not Believing That Everything Is Perfect

What is a healthy mindset?

A healthy mindset is being okay with trying, even if you aren’t the best. It is accepting that you don’t have to like everyone you meet and that they don’t have to take up any space in your mind or life if you don’t want them to. It means honoring when you aren’t feeling productive, and giving yourself the rest you need. It means pushing yourself when you know that you can stand to go a little farther. It means getting very good at discerning the difference.

The mistake most people are aiming for isn’t a healthy mindset, it’s the kind of perfectionistic nonsense that’s breaking them in the first place.

It does not mean that you do everything correctly on the first try. It does not mean you are able to intuit exactly what’s “right” for you without trying and failing sometimes. It does not mean that you will be seamlessly, unendingly productive, or that you’ll immediately like everyone you meet, and never have an ounce of self-doubt again.

A healthy mindset is not believing that everything is perfect, it is knowing that you will be okay even if it isn’t.

Most people live their lives thinking that just because they aren’t doing everything perfectly, that there’s something wrong with them. That they just need to be unblocked, healed, purged and awakened into some greater understanding that will make them the super beings they think they want to be.

That is not what healing is. That is not what awakening is.

Developing a healthy mindset is no longer avoiding, denying or rejecting discomfort, and it is knowing when discomfort is worth it. It is understanding that life is not perfect and never will be, and it is the willingness to live anyway. It is the knowledge that people are not always trustworthy, and it is the willingness to try anyway. It is realizing that you might not always get things right the first time, and it is the willingness to do them anyway. It is the acceptance that you are not a perfect being, and it is the recognition that you never needed to be anyway.

A healthy mindset means knowing that you have the power to build the life you want, and it is the wisdom to know when you’re wasting that energy on the things you don’t. It is not believing you are the best person in the room, it is being okay even though you aren’t. It is not competing with people until you arise victoriously and on top, it is remembering that everyone has their own path, and you cannot beat someone on their journey of self-development.

Be active. At the same time, focus on yourself.

You Are Allowed To Admit You’re Not Okay

Hey guys,

You’re not okay if you’re spending every single day in bed, barely moving from your room, rarely answering texts or engaging in any type of human interaction.

You’re not okay if you’re crying your eyes out every single night before you go to sleep, if you’re skipping showers almost every single morning, if you’re losing energy early in the afternoon when you’ve hardly even started your day yet.

You’re not okay if you’re always telling lies about why you’ve been acting so distant from your friends, why you’ve been locked inside your house lately, why you haven’t been in the mood to go out, why your eyes are always so red and puffy.

You’re not okay if you’ve lost interest in things you used to love, if you’ve lost energy, if you’ve lost passion, if you’ve lost the desire to roll out of bed when your alarm rings.

You’re not okay if you’ve been feeling off, like you’re not exactly yourself, like something needs to change. You’re not okay if you’re worried you’re going to feel this way forever. You’re not okay if you’re hoping thing are going to change soon.

You need to understand that not okay doesn’t mean not normal. There are so many people in this world feeling similar to how you’re feeling. You’re not alone. You’re not weird. You’re not crazy. You’re just a human going through a hard time right now.

If you’re not okay, you shouldn’t be embarrassed about it, but you should do something about it. You should reach out to get the help you deserve. You should make the choice to make a lifestyle change. You should see if you can find a therapist to talk to about your situation. You should pour your energy into finding a way to cultivate happiness moving forward.

You don’t want your life to be about existing until the next day, the next hour, the next minute. You want it to be about looking forward to the next day, the next hour, the next minute. In order for that to happen, you need to find things you enjoy. You need to get excited about waking up in the morning again. You need to ask yourself what you want and how you’re going to get it.

The time to play pretend is over. It’s time to start taking care of yourself. It’s time to decide you deserve happiness. You deserve to feel proud of yourself. You deserve to wake up in the morning with energy.

When you pretend you’re okay, you’re pretending you don’t need to fix your situation. You’re pretending your mental health isn’t a priority. You’re pretending talking to someone isn’t going to help. You’re pretending you’re perfectly fine living like this day after day after day.

But you’re not okay — and it’s okay to admit that. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to start taking better care of yourself. It’s okay to decide you matter. Your happiness matters. Your well-being matters. Your life matters.

Don’t pretend to be okay. Everyone needs help!!!

Despite What You Think Of Yourself, You Are Valuable

Hey guys!

It’s dangerous to assume your worth is tied to any one thing, whether that’s your career or your relationship or your friendships. If you get your validation from a single outside source, then your sense of worth is going to rise and drop on a daily basis. Your confidence is going to change based on how well that single area of your life is currently going.

You can’t allow your relationship status to determine your worth. It doesn’t matter whether you’re currently getting over a breakup. It doesn’t matter whether your heart is having trouble healing. It doesn’t matter whether you’re spending your nights in bed alone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the last one of your friends who is still single. It doesn’t matter whether you thought you would be married with children by now. You value doesn’t change based on whether or not you’re in a relationship.

You can’t allow your social media stats to determine your worth. It doesn’t matter how many comments you get on a selfie. It doesn’t matter how many followers you have. It doesn’t matter how many people have been sliding into your DMs. It doesn’t matter whether anyone has checked your story in the last hour. Your value doesn’t changed based on your popularity on social media.

You can’t allow your career to determine your worth. It doesn’t matter how much money you’re making. It doesn’t matter whether you’re taking longer to achieve your goals than you feel like you should. It doesn’t matter whether your friends seem further ahead than you right now. It doesn’t matter whether you feel like you’re slowly falling behind. You value doesn’t change based on the amount of money in your bank account.

If you’re unhappy with a certain area of your life, then by all means, you should try to fix it. You should take action. You should make a change. But you should never let your unhappiness convince you that you’re not valuable as a human being.

You can’t allow a single aspect of your life to determine your worth. You have to determine your own worth.

You have to look in the mirror and say to yourself: I know what I think of me and I am valuable. I am worthwhile. I am loved.”

Thanks to Holly Riordan for the motivation.

How It Started With Colonel Sanders And Birth Of Kentucky Fried Chicken

Hey guys!

Let’s go back in history to proof a point that rejection is actually the gateway to success.

Once, there was an elderly man, who was broke, living in a tiny house and owned a beat up car. He was living off $99 social security checks. At 65 years of age, he decided things had to change. So he thought about what he had to offer.

His friends raved about his chicken recipe. He decided that this was his best shot at making a change.

He left the state of Kentucky in America and travelled to different states to try to sell his recipe. He told restaurant owners that he had a mouthwatering chicken recipe.

He offered the recipe to them for free, just asking for a small percentage on the items sold. Sounds like a good deal, right?

Unfortunately, not to most of the restaurants. He heard NO over 1000 times. Even after all of those rejections, he didn’t give up. He believed his chicken recipe was something special. He got rejected 1009 times before he heard his first YES.

With that one success Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the way Americans eat chicken. Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC, was born.

At the moment, KFC is a worldwide franchise filling people’s belly with good food to snack around.

NB: Remember, never give up and always believe in yourself in spite of rejection.

Job 22-29: When They Say There Is A Casting Down, You Scream There Is A Lifting Up

Hey guys,

God has been so good to me and my family. Last year September we made the vold move of relocating to the UK to start over. Some families and friends discouraged us from moving. But we believed in God who already made it possible for us to move.

At the moment, am sure a lot of you are facing the same issues. There will be walls speaking negatively to you, there qill be that friend, family, or mind, telling you starting over will be hard, you will not fulfill your destiny, starting all over will be hard. Blah Blah Blah!

Arriving in the UK, I didn’t know the stages or ways one get a job here since am from another country. The systems are different. But to my surprise, after a month of applying I got a job with Amazon. Where most people here are telling me it won’t happen till I spend three months. God showed up for me.

Grateful!

In summary of all, don’t listen to third party or that negative mind. Focus all your energy with God and be positive knowing the word of God that states: WHERE EVERYONE SAYS THERE IS A CASTING DOWN, WE WILL SCREAM THERE IS A LIFTING UP THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Stay blessed 🙌
